After a spell without a family pet due to my son's illness as a baby, we rescued Daisy (now Storm) from a shelter in July 2014. She was a kind, funny, wonderful addition to the family and after deciding that she was too good a pet to keep to ourselves, I trained her to become a therapy dog.
Storm and I now work with Therapeutic Paws of Canada (http://tpoc.ca) and not only visit Senior Centers but also take part in the Paws 2 Read program in Halton Hills libraries and schools.
I've worked with animals, big and small in some way or another for many years, whether it's cuddling on the couch with my dog, helping out with screeching cockatoos or mucking out at the stables just to be around the horses. It only made sense once I'd got the bug back that I quit my office job (which I loved) and become a certified pet stylist / walker / sitter (which I love more.)
I'm going to enjoy pampering and polishing your furry family members as much as I do my own.
